Lunch Break Video: When David Fisher came out to everyone on HBO’s “Six Feet Under”

During the first season of that late, great HBO series, Six Feet Under, David Fisher was still coming to terms with being gay.

Here are scenes when he came out to his mom and his church.

In watching this, I’m struck by just how very good an actor Michael C. Hall is. He was never nominated for an Emmy for his work in the series and he damned well should have been.

But he did get plenty of well-deserved acclaim for is even better-known role as a serial killer on Showtime’s Dexter.

  1. I recently went back and rewatched all of the 6 Feet Under episodes. I knew I missed a few here here and there moving and what not.

    I loved it.

I agree. Michael C. Hall was great in this series. I never got into Dexter. Michael should have gotten an Emmy or two for his work.

My dreamboat of this series was Nate-Peter Krause. His furriness was on display often. What a career he has had. I love him in his current show 911.

In totality the Fisher family and extended were one messed group of individuals. Tightly wound and ready to break at any minute. But is that not life? Is it not family life?

I could dissect this series for days.

  2. In addition to his five nominations for Dexter in 2008-2012 Michael C. was nominated once for his stellar work in Six Feet Under @ Emmys in 2002.
