Lunch Break Video: The new video for Barbra Streisand’s “I Think It’s Gonna Rain Today”

This is the first official video from Barbra Streisand’s “new” album of previously unreleased recordings.

The album, Release Me, goes on sale Oct. 9 and it features the beautiful song I Think It’s Gonna Rain Today which Streisand recorded in 1970 for her Stoney End album. The song didn’t make the cut then but better late than never.

Fans of the movie Beaches will remember that the song was sung by Bette Midler in the scene where Barbara Hershey’s character realizes she is terminally ill.

2 Remarks

  1. Nice song!…but I still like her work from a little known album from around the same period the album is ‘Lazy Afternoon’ here she worked with Rupert Holmes cut like like “By the Way” “A Child is Born” “My Fathers Song” and a personal favorite “Letters That Cross in the Mail” now this song has romance and story telling before people spilled there guts out on Twitter and cell phones.
I get the unreleased material thing but why not re rerelease your best? Repackage these songs with shiny new video if you must. A new generation is waiting rediscover…these wonderful gems?

  2. Just proof that “best” is a matter of opinion, isn’t it? This was a beautiful song then. Han’t changed any.
