Lunch Break Video: President Obama pays a visit to “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”

President Barack Obama may have his critics but Ellen DeGeneres sure is not one of them.

Obama, during a trip to Los Angeles on Thursday, made another appearance on DeGeneres’ daytime talk show where he chatted about First Lady Michelle Obama and their two teen daughters.

The chief executive also lamented ‘stuff that is just put out there on the Internet’ or ‘sometimes news broadcasts’ that he says misrepresents his record and are factually inaccurate.

‘When I came into office we reduced the deficit by two-thirds but if you ask the average person, they’re sure that spending has shot up,’ Obama said. ‘And the reason is there are a bunch of folks who say that we’re wildly overspending even though we aren’t.’

DeGeneres made clear where she stands.

‘You have been a great president,’ she told Obama. ‘People can say things over and over and over again about unemployment or the economy or anything else. But if listen to that you’re going to believe it. If you look into it and see what the facts are, it’s just not the truth. You’ve done an amazing job.’

Obama agreed saying: ‘We’re better off now than when I came in.’

Here are two portions of his appearance which airs this afternoon:
