Lunch Break Video: On her 69th birthday, some Stockard Channing as Rizzo from “Grease”
She won an Emmy for playing the First Lady of the US on The West Wing, another Emmy for her performance in The Matthew Shepard Story, received a Tony Award for the Broadway play Joe Egg and was nominated for a best actress Oscar for her performance in Six Degrees of Separation.
Without a doubt, Stockard Channing is one of the greatest actresses of her generation.
So who do we remember her best as?
Rizzo of course! Leader of the Pink Ladies at Rydell High School in the best movie musical of them all: Grease.
Hard as it is to believe, because she always looks so damned good, Miss Channing turns 69 today. Let’s celebrate by revisiting her two big musical numbers from Grease.
