Lunch Break Video: Lucille Ball’s final bow

With all of the celebrity deaths that have occurred in recent weeks, I thought about when Lucille Ball died 2o years ago and how, even though she was 77 years old, is was still such a terrible shock.

But when you watch this appearance with Bob Hope at the 1989 Academy Awards, just weeks before Lucy’s death, you realize she went out the way any star would want: she got one helluva standing ovation, still had her comic timing intact, and looked terrific (check out the slit on that dress!).

Most of all, she had to know how much she was loved.
