Lunch Break Video: Jesse Tyler Ferguson makes shocking accusation against Eric Stonestreet
At Sunday night’s Emmy Awards, Jesse Tyler Ferguson appeared moved when Modern Family co-star Eric Stonestreet paid tribute to him after beating Ferguson for the supporting actor in a comedy prize.
But during an appearance on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live Monday, Ferguson appeared to allow himself to be egged on to being a sore loser by the host.
Said Kimmel:’I think one of the reasons why he got the nod over you is because he’s a straight guy playing a gay guy and that’s more of a challenge than being a gay guy playing a gay guy. You might want to think about dating some women.’
Ferguson, by now clearly part of a comedy bit, told Kimmel he had a different plan then unveiled a political ad-type spot that shows portions of Stonestreet’s emotional Emmy acceptance interspersed with a damning voiceover.
Among the allegations: ‘Eric Stonestreet isn’t gay. He just steals gay American jobs from gay Americans.’ ‘He’s a liar and an ass-kisser.’
The ad ended with Stonestreet’s TV husband looking very seriously at the camera and saying: ‘I’m Jesse Tyler Ferguson and I approve this message.’
Kimmel approved: ‘I like it. It’s aggressive and it’s bold.’
