Lunch Break Video: In “If We Took A Holiday,” actress impersonates Madonna all day to cheer up gay friend
Madonna’s birthday was earlier this month and I meant to share this brilliant 2014 short film then.
Better late than never!
If We Took a Holiday tells the story of a struggling L.A. actress (Nadya Ginsburg) who agrees to impersonate Madonna all day long as a birthday present for her recently dumped gay best friend (Dennis Hensley.)
Shenanigans and life lessons ensue.
The film is produced and written by Glenn Gaylord, Ginsburg and Hensley and directed by Gaylord whose feature film credits include such terrific movies as I Do and Leave it on the Floor.
I happen to sit with Glenn and Dennis last weekend at the Levi Kreis concert at the Renberg Theater and a few days earlier Dennis and I sat together for the LA premiere of A Very Sordid Wedding. I think the world of Dennis who interviewed me earlier this year for his Dennis/Anyone? podcast. Dennis is an amazing interviewer and writer and, as you can see here, a pretty good actor!
Enjoy their brilliant collaboration here.
