Lunch Break Video: Celebrating the 64th birthday of the lovely Olivia Newton-John

Hard to believe that our Sandy from Grease is 64!

Still as lovely as ever, this is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Olivia Newton-John, one of our most enduring talents who I have loved since I was a kid.

One of my sisters had her album Have You Never Been Mellow and my favorite songs on it were the title track and Please Mr. Please. From then on, I’d be excited whenever she had a new record out starting with all the songs from Grease: Hopelessly Devoted to You, Summer Nights and You’re the One That I Want.

Then came a string of more edgy hits like A Little More Love, Heart Attack and, of course, Physical as well as her movie Xanadu which featured the classic title song as well as Magic and her duet with Cliff Richards, Suddenly, one of my all-time faves.

Here are some Olivia moments:

3 Remarks

  1. Happy Birthday, Olivia! It just so happens that I saw her live for the first time ever in Jackson, Mich. this past Sunday evening. It was a wonderful show – her voice as beautiful and strong as ever, seemingly hitting every single high note with ease.

  2. Hi Greg!
    It’s Cliff Richard (no “s”)

  3. It seems to be a common thread that those of us “of a certain age” all had a crush on Olivia, but lo and behold, turned out to be gay…me included! She was my teenage crush but it wasn’t sexual longing…just loved her music and her beauty.
