Lunch Break Video: Barbara Walters interviews Audrey Hepburn for her 1989 Oscar night special

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_uT7CtSwKJCo/SXfk5qoslSI/AAAAAAAAAO8/JPIDfZCeyCQ/s400/audrey_hepburn22.jpgLove this interview with Audrey Hepburn because it’s so wide-ranging and she is so relaxed and candid.

It’s a conversation with Barbara Walters from twenty years ago that took place on a beach in Mexico. Hepburn was about to turn 60 and really seemed happy with her life as an ambassador for UNICEF which was the main passion of the final years of her life (She died of cancer in 1993).

She tells Barbara about how she achieved her signature look, about how she believes Julie Andrews should have been given the lead in My Fair Lady, and about why she gave up movies at the height of her success in order to raise her two sons.

I’ve posted the entire interview here and the first part has a nice retrospective of the Hepburn career that included such classics as Breakfast at Tiffanys, My Fair Lady, Roman Holiday, Funny Face, Two for the Road, Sabrina, The Children’s Hour, Charade A Nun’s Story and Wait Until Dark, among others.

I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did.
