Luke mourns Reid on “As the World Turns”
Reid is really dead and Chris has his heart.
Now our Luke Snyder must deal with finding Reid’s next of kin and his parents come to his aid on this.
It’s interesting that this much emotion is being felt for a character who was new to the show. It’s a real credit to the performance of Eric Sheffer Stevens as Reid.
If it has been Chris Hughes (played by Daniel Cosgrove) who had died instead, I don’t think the emotions would be as palpable for some reason.
Van Hansis as Luke is heartbreaking in this episode as he deals with his grief.
I don’t have much commentary, just the clips.

Another great performance by Van Hansis and the cast all around. It was great seeing John and Lucinda together today. I think it’s hard to care about Chris because their wasn’t enough time to develop him and his relatinships with Katie and Reid.
But honestly, I think the greatness of the emotional impact was due to the acting talents of VH and ESS. There was no match for them when they were together, which made the storyline all the more tragic.

Missed a few episodes and now Reid is dead. How did they kill him off? Now I understand the whole show is getting the ax? I can’t believe it…is the last episode going to air exactly a year later than the last episode of Guiding Light?
DANA says:
Van Hansis is the best actor of this show. All the emotions he was showing during these episodes of Luke mourning are incredibly intense thanks to Van Hansis’ acting: his performances are powerful.
