Late Night Video: Watch an absolutely terrific interview with Jennifer Holliday on ‘Theater Talk’
I may have mentioned this once or twice before. One of my favorite shows to watch on YouTube is Theater Talk. It was Elaine Stritch’s favorite show to guest on because she was relaxed and the hosts know their stuff. The most recent episode is one of the best I’ve ever seen because of the way they get Jennifer Holliday to open up and talk about her craft and career. She talks about her return to Broadway, playing in the Tony Award-winning revival of The Color Purple. She also also reminisces about appearing in the original production of Dreamgirls directed by her mentor Michael Bennett, beginning when she was 19 years-old. She won the Tony Award for a performance that made the show. Fascinating interview that I didn’t know I had time for tonight but couldn’t stop watching it and couldn’t wait to share it with you.
