LA Lesbian & Gay Wedding Expo is Sunday!
While I’m just trying to get past the third date lately, others are busy planning their wedding.
Good for them!
And they can get plenty of ideas and help on Sunday at the Los Angeles Lesbian & Gay Wedding Expo to be held at The LA Athletic Club downtown.
The event is being presented by Frontiers Media.
Hundreds of recently engaged gay and lesbian couples have RSVP’d but there is still plenty of room I’m told.
“Frontiers Media was inspired to create this event because the community now needs its own high-quality wedding expo,” says David Stern, president of Frontiers Media and publisher of Frontiers Magazine. “Until now, gays have been systematically excluded from the wedding industry. Couples want to work with people who they know are gay friendly and supportive of marriage equality.’’
Frontiers has partnered with the top event planning and caterings firms in the city for the event. In addition to the more than 50 exhibitors, there will be panel discussions about wedding tips, financial and legal advice, fertility and family planning and pre-wedding counseling.
Professionals who have planned gay weddings can help couples sort through choices about location, clothing and invitations and what type of ceremony they want to host.
Here is the schedule for the panels:
** 12: 30 – 1 p.m. – Wedding Do’s and Don’ts: Advice From The Experts About How to Plan Your Dream Wedding
** 1:05 – 1:35 p.m. – Creating Your Best Personal Look for Your Wedding
** 1:45 – 2:15 p.m. – Fertility and Family Planning
** 2:25 – 2:55 p.m. – Financial Planning for Your Wedding and Your Life Together
** 3 – 3:45 p.m. –The Importance of Pre-Wedding Counseling
** 4:15 p.m. Informal Q&A with Wedding Planner Kristin Banta in the bar lounge.
The event runs from Noon to 6 pm at the Los Angeles Athletic Club located at 431 W. Seventh St in the downtown.
