“Knots Landing” Tuesday: When Jill Bennett tried to kill poor Val and make it look like suicide!

No one ever suffered on Knots Landing the way Val (Joan Van Ark) did and no matter what was happening in her life, we were always firmly on her side and hoping that some way, she and Gary (Ted Shackleford) would find their way back to each other.

Not too long after Val learns that her presumed dead twins are alive (Gary is their father), Gary’s latest girlfriend Jill Bennett (Teri Austin) decides that Gary will never be truly hers as long as Val is in his life. So she does what any crazy girl in love would do: the puts on a crazy wig, buys a gun, breaks into Val’s house and makes her swallow a bottle of pills at gunpoint!

I remember this scene from season nine just being so chilling because Jill really did plan and execute it well. Both actresses are just sensational in this episode.
