Justin Bartha will replace T.R.Knight in Broadway revival of “Lend Me a Tenor”

Shortly after he left Grey’s Anatomy last year, it was announced that T.R. Knight would be returning to the Broadway stage in the Stanley Tucci-directed revival of Lend Me a Tenor.

But now comes word that T.R. is out of the role of Max, assistant to the general manager of the Cleveland Opera Company, and in is Justin Bartha who starred most recently in The Hangover. Bartha, who also starred in the National Treasure movies, will be making his Broadway debut.

Knight starred in the musical Parade at the Mark Taper Forum in the fall. He dropped out of Tenor prior to the announcement of dates last week. The show begins previews on March 11 for an April 4 opening at the Music Box Theater.

Other cast members include Anthony LaPaglia, Tony Shalhoub, Jan Maxwell, Mary Catherine Garrison, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Jay Klaitz and Brooke Adams.
