Juan Pablo Galavis apologizes for anti-gay comments which ABC condemns as “careless, thoughtless and insensitive”

Bachelor star Juan Pablo Galavis was slammed by ABC for his comments made about gay people.

The network stated: “Juan Pablo’s comments were careless, thoughtless and insensitive, and in no way reflect the views of the network, the show’s producers or studio.”

Galavis was asked if there should be a gay Bachelor and said: “I don’t think it’s a good example for kids…There’s this thing about gay people… it seems to me, and I don’t know if I’m mistaken or not… but they’re more ‘pervert’ in a sense. And to me the show would be too strong… too hard to watch.”

Galavis has posted an explanation on Facebook blaming it on English being his second language: “I want to apologize to all the people I may have offended because of my comments on having a Gay or Bisexual Bachelor. The comment was taken out of context. If you listen to the entire interview, there’s nothing but respect for Gay people and their families. I have many gay friends and one of my closest friends who’s like a brother has been a constant in my life especially during the past 5 months. The word pervert was not what I meant to say and I am very sorry about it. Everyone knows English is my second language and my vocabulary is not as broad as it is in Spanish and, because of this, sometimes I use the wrong words to express myself. What I meant to say was that gay people are more affectionate and intense and for a segment of the TV audience this would be too racy to accept. The show is very racy as it is and I don’t let my 5 year old daughter watch it. Once again, I’m sorry for how my words were taken. I would never disrespect anyone.”

So what do you all think?

7 Remarks

  1. Sure, Sounds sincere to me,NOT!!!!! and to think of how hours of my precious beauty sleep I’ve lost sitting nights up looking for his approval and acceptance.

  2. Apology? Lost in translation? Yeah, yeah, yeah…after receiving angry backlash from female fans.

  3. Blaming it on English being your second language. Yeah, right.

KISS MY GAY ASS Juan Pablo!!!

  4. If I went on a show where I was one of twenty men trying to get laid by a woman, then went on a show where I was a guy trying to decide which of twenty women I wanted to lay, all the time waiting until the state of Florida sued me to get me to pay my child support, then yes, I too would choose to be a champion of family values, protecting children from the perversion of gay people. It’s only natural, right?

  5. Screw your fauxpology Juan.

  6. He can kiss my ass! The network and publicist told him to apologize so he had too. ABC married Sam Champion and his Boifriend on TV and supported Robin Roberts. Its is a very gay friendly network. I hope they take his rear off. He is a worthless human.

  7. He certainly hasn’t had many problems with “English as a second language” all along…..until he starts calling gay people perverts, and BAM, blame it on the language barrier. It’s pretty hilarious when you divorce yourself from the emotional feelings.

Now I hope ABC is equally as outspoken on Sherri Shepherd and her inane comments.

Between Juan Pablo, Shepherd, and now Liam from One Direction, it’s been a rough weekend for people talking sh*t about gay folks.
