Jonathan Van Ness looks back at extraordinary year: “I’ve come into my courage”

View this post on Instagram

2019 I’ve come into my courage & found my voice like never before. These are some of the highlights of my year, from meeting a new dear friend in Taylor Swift @taylorswift to interviewing Elizabeth Warren @elizabethwarren for Getting Curious @curiouswithjvn Learning & spending time with the @queereye family in Japan to presenting at the VMAs, writing a NYT best selling book where I was able to talk about living w HIV amongst other things which allowed me to step into my public life fully in the way I wanted to. Which allowed me new opportunities to advocate, meeting again with @speakerpelosi & lobbying with @humanrightscampaign for better access to PREP. I finished a 31 city, 4 country comedy tour, selling out Radio City Music Hall with Australia & New Zealand coming in 2020! I went on the @todayshow with @hodakotb the @colbertlateshow and @jimmykimmellive and shared what having an undetectable viral load means & that Undetectable = Untransmittable. Not to mention we met @ocasio2018 who I admire more and more all the time. Plus @queereye won Emmy(s) & My life idol, mentor & dearest can’t believe she’s my friend bestie @michellewkwan was my birthday date, came to my Radio City show, and interviewed me about my book where she’s mentioned 18,000 times. It’s been such a journey growing with all of you this year and I can’t wait to see what 2020 brings I could make of of these for my fav fashions & favorite Getting Curious episodes and I may still even do that next week
