John Barrowman accepts HRC Visibility Award but it was his husband’s visibility on many minds

It was such a fun affair and the most fun was when John talked a little bit about the accidental video last spring of hubby Scott Gill getting into the hot tub naked.

John was honored at the party, held during the second day of Palm Springs Pride, with the HRC Visibility Award.

‘When I walked in I was very proud and thought, “Okay, I’m going to get this honor today and I’m chuffed by it,’ Barrowman told the crowd of more than 800 at Barry Manilow’s estate on Saturday (5 November).

‘Every man that came up to me said, “Thank you for posting that video of your husband on Facebook.” Now you know why I’m always smiling.’

In case there was anyone in the crowd who had not seen the video, Barrowman said: ‘It’s on YouTube if you haven’t seen it. Even my mother and father watched it. That was awkward!’

The actor’s parents were present at the HRC event along with a fully-clothed Gill.
