Jan-Michael Gambill celebrates his 40th birthday – and an anniversary – in Paris with Malek Alqadi
Jan-Michael Gambill, one of the most handsome men to ever play on the pro tennis tour, turns 40 today. He’s doing some coaching and TV commentary these days and does a lot of traveling with model/architectural designer Malek Alqadi. It’s clear the two are very close and I enjoy following their adventures on Instagram. They’ve never officially announced they are a couple but their many photos together certainly give that impression – and they seem very happy. Earlier today, Alqadi posted a photo of the two (they are in Paris) with this sweet birthday (and anniversary) message: ‘I love you to the moon and back. #HappyBirthday #LoveYou #SoManyAdventures oh and #HappyAnniversary too.’ Gambill responded: Love you too. Just getting started. Gambill stopped competing on the pro tour in 2010. He made his professional debut in 1996 and reached a career-high singles ranking of No. 14 in the world on June 18, 2001. He reached the quarterfinals of the 2000 Wimbledon Championships, the final of the 2001 Miami Masters, and won three singles titles.
