Jada Pinkett Smith on the gay rumors

Jada Pinkett Smith, starring in the new TNT drama Hawthorne, remarks on the rumors that have swirled around her and husband Will Smith including a persistent one that one or the other – or both – are gay.

“You want people to talk about you, because once they stop talking about you that’s when you’re really in trouble!” she says in the June issue of Ebony magazine. “I’m happy to have people talk about all the craziness they want to talk about, whether it’s things like every year we’re getting divorced or we’re an open family or Will’s gay, or I’m gay.”

Jada did play a lesbian in last year’s disappointing remake of The Women. I have to say, I have enjoyed her in many movies, but this was the worst performance of her career. The writing was to blame since even Debra Messing was terrible in it and she isn’t usually terrible in anything.
