It’s my blogiversary! Greg in Hollywood is 9!
Greg In Hollywood turns 9 today so let’s celebrate!
Hard to believe nine years have gone by since this site was somehow launched less than a week after I was downsized from the LA Daily News – just one day after covering the 2009 Academy Awards. It was a crazy time, a scary time and ultimately an exciting time. On these anniversaries I always, from the bottom of my heart, thank my friends Danny Sullivan, Lorna Harris, Kate Cohen and Val Cohen for dropping everything to help me quickly get Greg In Hollywood up and running. I was numb and in shock at the time but focused and determined to turn lemons into lemonade.
Since then, this blog has been my baby – a constant not just in my professional life but in my life. It is directly responsible for my being offered the U.S. correspondent job at Gay Star News when it launched back in 2011 – a job I left just last June to take a position with the Los Angeles LGBT Center. For all the love and energy I continue to put into Greg In Hollywood, I get it in return in the form of really thoughtful emails that come out of nowhere and meeting longtime readers when I’m at an event or out and about.
People are so kind and so thoughtful.
