It’s all “Greek” to “Dante’s Cove” star Gregory Michael
When it was announced a few weeks back that here! TV would be doing a fourth season of the sexy gothic soap Dante’s Cove next fall, it was welcome news to the cast – and it was certainly news.
Cast members from previous seasons are still waiting to find out if they will be asked back – even Gregory Michael whose character of Kevin has been integral to the plot for each of the show’s three seasons. Kevin is the love of Toby’s life (played by Charlie David) but also the object of obsession for the powerful Ambrosius (William Gregory Lee).
“I haven’t heard much,” Gregory told me during our chat at the GLAAD Media Awards. “I don’ have enough information for you about Dante’s. I just talked to Charlie about a week ago – as soon as the announcement came out and we’re all really excited. I’m having tea with (co-star) Tracy Scoggins.”
He’d love to return to Dante’s the role of Kevin (“It’s filmed in Hawaii, c’mon.”) but this handsome young actor has taken a role in another series in the meantime: he plays the gay roommate of gay character Calvin (Paul James) on the hit ABC Family series Greek.
“Greek is awesome, the cast is awesome,” Gregory said. “Working with Paul James’ character of Calvin. There’s gonna be a little love thing going on with my character and we’ll see what happens in the subsequent season. But we definitely bare a little bit.”
Their characters have a strong attraction to each other and become involved. So I had to ask Gregory Michael: “Who’s the better on-screen boyfriend, Charlie David or Paul James?” (I should have also asked, ‘Does everyone have to first names now?)
Said the diplomatic Gregory: “Nothing compares to either of them actually. They’re so different honest to God. Paul James is such a sweetheart, so is Charlie. Yoiu can’t compare them! They have their strengths. They’re both pretty rugged.”
He’ll be happy to juggle roles on Dante’s and Greek: “My (Greek) episodes end at the end of May and the beginning of June and id Dante’s happens, it’ll happen this fall – 10 episodes are supposedly ordered. I haven’t heard the call to me but, you know, we’ll see.”

Come on, guys, there’s nothing like “Dante’s Cove” on cable TV. It’s a unique blend of the supernatural and gay sex. And, with each season, it has gotten stronger, too. But, come on, I could look at William Gregory Lee and Gregory Michael all day long. Their outdoor shower scene in Season Three seared itself into my memory. Here! TV needs to invest more time and more money into the series. Maybe they don’t realize the unusual and entertaining nature of the series. If they don’t, they’d better climb on the bandwagon. Let’s not lose out on “Dante’s Cove”. I need my seasonal “dose” of William Gregory Lee and Gregory Michael. When these two guys are “together”, in bed or out, fireworks are exploding over Dante’s Cove.
