Is LGBT conversion therapy ever really funny? “Will & Grace” took it on in last night’s episode

This week’s episode of NBC’s Will & Grace got big laughs by having the grandson of Jack (Sean Hayes) attend a gay conversion camp run by guest stars Jane Lynch and Andrew Rannells.

But leaders of a campaign to regulate these camps want people to know that smiling “counselors” leading kids to sing silly religious camp tunes, where parents are welcome to visit, is a far cry from the reality.

I write about these horrible “camps” in a story on the LA LGBT Center’s Vanguard Blog. Check it out!

One Remark

  1. In four words…conversion therapy is funny. When it is presented for its absurdity. This episode was so good. It made be feel that W&G is just as relevant now as it over 11 years ago. This episode reminded me of the equally funny episode from the first run where NPH played the leader of an ex-gay support group that everyone was using as a gay hook up service. Also, it was fun to see Jack meet his gay GRANDSON!!! This is the best sitcom episode I have seen in a very long time!
