In new Hollywood Reporter cover story, Ronan Farrow talks Weinstein, Woody and a man he’s been linked to romantically

Ronan Farrow is the subject of a cover story in the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter.

The New Yorker contributing writer with famous parents (Mia Farrow and Woody Allen) is a hot commodity since his extensive magazine piece that had a huge role in bringing down Harvey Weinstein. He also did a powerful follow-up piece revealing the extent to which Weinstein went get his victims to remain silent.

The piece does not detail Farrow’s personal life but it does mention Jon Lovett, the former Obama speechwriter and comedic co-host of the popular political podcast Pod Save America whom the article states “he’s been linked romantically, though he won’t comment except to say they have ‘been close in recent years.’”

Asked when he last spoke to his father, Ronan offers a long silence. “I don’t actually know the answer to that,” he finally says. “We have had contact over the years, but he is not someone that I keep up with regularly.”

Some interesting tidbits: His mother started driving him nearly an hour each way to take classes at Bard College when he was 11. In his final years of school, he lived in the home of a professor near campus. By 16, he had earned his degree and became an intern for Richard Holbrooke on the presidential campaign of John Kerry. Farrow was too young to have an apartment of his own, so he stayed with Diane Sawyer and Mike Nichols on “a couch in Mike’s office,” he says.

Farrow entered Yale Law School at the age of 18.
