In 2013 Funny or Die parody, Jesse Tyler Ferguson was ‘Gay Bachelor’ who was ignored by suitors
Did you know that Jesse Tyler Ferguson was once in the shoes of Finding Prince Charming star Robert Sepulveda Jr.?
Well, sort of.
The Modern Family actor starred in a 2013 Funny or Die gay parody of ABC’s The Bachelor that featured George Takei as the host.
Ironically, there’s also a cameo by Lance Bass who hosts the new Bravo show.
There are 13 ‘suitors’ who will be vying for Sepulveda’s attentions when the show premieres tonight.
But as Dan Savage points out, there’s every possibility that the suitors could be just as attracted to each other as to Sepulveda.
That was the scenario Ferguson’s character of Brydan faces in the parody.
He’s not even the only Brydan and he’s one of at least four trial attorneys in the group.
But worse, he’s being ignored.
‘A lot of guys have found a connection living in the contestant house without me which has been an unforeseen hurdle,’ he says.
Later, at the pool, he finally loses it: ‘You’re supposed to be competing over me! I’m The Bachelor!’
One of the contestants stops splashing around long enough to say: ‘We’re all bachelors dude.’
But the lowest blow comes at the rose ceremony. A guy named Derrick accepted the rose from Brydan but then turns around and proposed marriage to a guy named Adam.
Let’s home Sepulveda has better luck on Finding Prince Charming.
