“I Love Lucy” Friday: A Teensy, Weensy dance at the jailhouse with the Borden twins!

If Ricky, Lucy, Fred and Ethel had decided to just fly to Hollywood from New York when Ricky landed a movie role, we would have missed out on a series of wonderful “road trip”episodes like this one.

The gang turns to “Cousin Ernie” (Tennessee Ernie Ford) to get them out of jail in a small town. The sheriff has arrested them on trumped up charges and won’t release them unless Ricky agrees to take his twin daughters, Teensy and Weensy to Hollywood so they can find fame and fortune.

Roz and Marilyn Borden, aka the Borden Twins, made an indelible impression as the twins in this 1955 episode. They started their showbiz careers at the age of 3 and worked with the likes of Jimmy Durante, Jerry Lewis and Bob Newhart. They were also a part of the I Love Lucy 50th Anniversary television special. Entertaining on cruise ships led them to their current avocation, as cruise ship tour leaders and cruise-travel agents through their company, The Borden Twins Cruise Tours.
