Hugh Jackman bringing one-man stage show to Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre in October for benefit
Hugh Jackman is bringing his acclaimed one man show from Broadway to LA in the fall – but as it says in the title, it is for one night only.
I’d love to see Hugh settle in for a three week run at the Pantages or something so we can all get a chance to enjoy his many talents.
Hugh Jackman…One Night Only will be presented at The Dolby Theatre – site of the Academy Awards – on October 12 and benefits the Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF).
This will mark Hugh’s his first time performing the show in Southern California.
MPTF is a a 92-year-old charity that provides essential health care, wellness, social services, child care and retirement services to the entertainment community.
Hugh has been involved since 2007 when he first performed and co-hosted the organization’s A Fine Romance – an event celebrating the love affair between Broadway and Hollywood.
“Films, television and theatre have brought me great success throughout my career and it is one of my greatest pleasures to give back by putting on a show as a benefit to support MPTF,” Hugh said in one of those canned statements.
Jim Gianopulos, Chairman and CEO, 20th Century Fox, is putting on the event said the performance will take place on Jackman’s birthday.
“We are thrilled to provide Los Angeles with an opportunity to experience Hugh’s boundless talent and generosity,” he stated.
An American Express pre-sale begins on Friday, July 26 at 10 AM PST. Tickets will be made available to the general public via Ticketmaster on Friday, August 9.
