Hugh Grant speaks out for marriage equality
Hugh Grant makes one thing clear in a new video for the UK’s Out4Marriage campaign: marriage is not for him!
But the star of one of my favorite movies, About a Boy, as well as Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill and the Bridget Jones franchise believes gays and lesbians should have the right to marry each other if they want to.
‘I’m not a massive believer in marriage – I think my own biography is testament to that,’ Grant says in his message. ‘But I do think that love is the same for everyone. And I do think that everyone should have the same rights.’
He adds: ‘If you want to get married, whether you’re gay, straight, transgender, whatever, you should definitely be allowed to do that.’
Well said Hugh!
