Has Elton John lost his mind? AIDS activist performs at the fourth wedding of Rush Limbaugh!

Elton John rocks the house in Reading, Pennsylvania as he performed all of his classic hits on stage to a sold out crowd that was loving the Rocket Man himself. Elton wraps up his US tour and will head next to Mexico and Europe. Elton did his famous hand stand on the piano that he has done every show for years, but this time he seemed a bit winded as he came back down to the floor and looked to be taking a bit of a breather and then continued to wow the people of Reading,PA. - Prahl/Winslow Splash News

This seems so wrong on so many levels: Rush Limbaugh got married for the fourth time over the weekend and guess who performed at his wedding?

Elton John!

Elton, who is in a civil partnership with David Furnish, was reportedly paid $1 million for the gig with the earnings going to the Elton John AIDS Foundation as all money from his private concerts go.

According to a News Corporation (which owns Fox News) wire report, Elton serenaded the 400 guests into the wee hours Saturday night to celebrate the marriage of Limbaugh, 59, to Kathryn Rogers, 33, in the Ponce de Leon ballroom of Florida’s fabled Breakers hotel in Palm Beach.

Limbaugh is famously against gay marriage and has made several offensive homophobic remarks over the years.

I doubt there were many gay marriage supporter among these guests: former Bush adviser Karl Rove; actor-politician Fred Thompson; Fox News commentator Sean Hannity; former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani; GOP analyst Mary Matalin. A wedding guest also tells PEOPLE that among the others was Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

I hope Elton makes some kind of statement today explaining why he would take such a gig. Surely there are other ways for him to raise $1 million for AIDS causes.

There are other ways he could have raised $1 million dollars. It just so happens he did it a way that didn’t meet your criteria for what is appropriate. However he did raise the $1 million dollars so give it a break, Greg, and be glad the funds are going to be available when the AIDS causes need it!

  3. When I heard this I could not believe it. The money will definitely help with AIDS research, but its like taking it from SATAN.
