Happy Birthday to showbiz royalty Lucie Arnaz!

When I was a kid, I watched Lucie Arnaz co-star with her mother on Here’s Lucy every Monday then usually fall asleep during The Doris Day Show which aired after.

There was no way I’d fall asleep during the antics of Kim Carter, her uncle Harry (Gale Gordon), her brother Craig (Desi Arnaz Jr.) and her mom, Lucy Carter, who, of course, was played by the legendary Lucille Ball.

This was a clear case of nepotism being warranted because her six seasons on the sitcom launched Lucie’s career that has included Broadway (They’re Playing Our Song), the London stage (Witches of Eastwick), movies (The Jazz Singer) and her own television sitcom (The Lucie Arnaz Show).

Like her mom, Lucie is widely known to be a total professional and in addition to her own performing career, she has maintained the legacy of her parents classic TV show I Love Lucy.

Here are some clips of Lucie performing and I hope she is having a wonderful birthday.

Saw her at a REAF SF benefit that she participated and performing – was wowed with her voice and her perfect, long legs! Before that had no idea just how well she could sing and dance. Like her choice of husbands as well – Laurence Luckinbill.
