It was almost a year ago that sassy Betty White’s legendary career launched into yet another gear with a hilarious Snickers commercial that aired during the Super Bowl.

Since that time, the superstar has guest hosted Saturday Night Live and won an Emmy (her seventh) for it, memorably guest-starred on the sitcoms The Middle and Community, released an updated memoir, had a role in the big screen comedy You Again, and filmed the TV movie The Lost Valentine.

Oh yeah, she also managed to be one of the stars of the new sitcom Hot In Cleveland which has had stellar ratings since its debut and will have its second season premiere on Jan. 19.

In the show, which airs on TV Land, Miss White plays feisty landlady lka Ostrovsky whose trio of female tenants are played by Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick.

Of that talented group, it was Betty who was singled out with a nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award for best actress in a comedy series.

Who could have imagined that the woman who starred in the comedy series Life With Elizabeth back in the early 50s and would go on to play the iconic characters of Sue Ann Nivens on The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Rose Nyland on The Golden Girls, had yet another hit series in her?

She’s a person who clearly loves life and has great passion for her work.

“It’s hard for me to say no to a job,” she told us two weeks ago at the TV Critics Association Winter Press Tour. “You spend your career thinking if you say no, they’ll never ask you again. … I don’t think of it as work.”

At the age of 89, it seems like the kid is just getting started!
