Happy 51st Birthday to Megan Mullally!

Every once in awhile, a delicious sitcom character comes along that you can’t imagine anyone else playing.

That is definitely true of Megan Mullally and her rich, selfish, drug-addled, lazy, mouthy and boozy Will & Grace alter-ego Karen Walker. The actress won two Emmys during her eight seasons on the show and was nominated every single year.

If you think about it, Karen had a special comic relationship with everyone on the show whether it was her loyal but beleaguered maid Rosario (Shelly Morrison), her nemesis Beverly Leslie (Leslie Jordan) her partner in crime Jack (Sean Hayes), or her verbal punching bags Will (Eric McCormack) and Grace (Debra Messing).

Today, the actress turns 51 years old and I thought we’d celebrate with some Karen clips and some of her best one-liners:

“If you want people to like you you have to buy them things.”

“You say potato, I say vodka.”

“Oh yeah, honey, we’re all lesbians when the right man isn’t around.”

“Oh, just climb on top of each other and get it over with already.”

“I like Will’s family. They drink.”

[To Jack]: “No one in the world would believe you’re straight. You’re as gay as a clutchpurse on Tony night. You fell outta the gay tree, hitting every gay branch on the way down. And ya landed on a gay guy… and ya did ‘em. No, no, honey, your gayness can be seen from space.“

“Beverly Leslie is a homosexual. I repeat, Beverly Leslie is a homosexual.”
