Happy 35th birthday to Randy Harrison!
Believe it or not, it’s been seven years since Randy Harrison last played gay teen Justin Taylor on the US version of the Queer as Folk series which ran on Showtime from 2000 to 2005.
Today, that young man turns 35 and since the show, has built quite an impressive stage career with off-Broadway credits that include this year’s SILENCE! The Musical, A Letter from Ethel Kennedy, Edward the Second, An Oak Tree, Antony and Cleopatra and The Singing Forest.
He has also appeared in regional productions of The Glass Menagerie, Equus, Amadeus, Waiting for Godot, Mrs. Warren’s Profession, Wicked, The Who’s Tommy, Twelfth Night and A Midsummer’s Nights Dream.
But he hasn’t forgotten his most famous role and was part of a Queer as Folk reunion in Germany last summer.
‘I do get spotted as that guy from Queer as Folk, but not too much,’ Harrison told Out.com earlier this year. ‘It’s usually a pretty touching experience, because now that people who were in their early teens when the show aired are grown up, I get some beautiful stories about how much the show affected them.’
