I certainly feel Gus is being serious. Sadly this is 1 effective way to resolve a very clingy person (which I can totally see from Adam Rippon’s somewhat odd, post-performance public comments, interviews & demeanor). Im glad Adam worked so hard & did so incredibly well on the ice, but we don’t know went on among athletes in their village quarters afterwards.
