Greg In Hollywood discovers ‘Station 19′

Um, where have I been?

I knew there was a Grey’s Anatomy spinoff called Station 19 but until surfing through YouTube the other day, I did not know there was a gay storyline involving a widowed firefighter Travis Montgomery (Jay Hayden) and sous chef Grant (Sterling Sulieman) whose grandmother is charmingly played by the great Marla Gibbs (227, The Jeffersons).

I could seriously get into this show!

2 Remarks

  1. I must say it is so nice to see a gay couple come together on television the way I have witnessed ten thousand straight couples do. My only regret is that in the real world gay black and white men are very rarely coupled. Pity that Disney is ahead of the gay community.

  2. I guess people don’t just couple with each other because they are gay. There really is mutual appeal. Writers tend these days to inject relationships that don’t always reflect the general public, and that can cause a disjunction in what appeals to the public at large. There has to something more than just “let’s get together because we both are gay” situations. Plus “Station 19″ isn’t the best written show out there. It can’t come close to “Chicago Fire” in drama, acting, and appeal.
