Greg In Hollywood bumps into Darren Criss!
It’s not often when you meet a star whose work you admire and they end up exceeding how terrific you expected them to be.
That was the case yesterday morning when I bumped into Glee star Darren Criss in the lobby of the office building where I now work.
I said hello and mentioned that he had been featured on this blog last December winning the 2010 Greggy for New Star of the Year. His publicist had called me that day to say Darren was excited and grateful about it which I thought was nice.
But when I saw Darren’s face light up when he realized who I was and had given him that honor, it was very gratifying. Then the icing on the cake: Before we parted ways, Darren gave me this wonderful heartfelt hug.
It made my day. What an absolutely great guy!

I’m not surprised. From everything I’ve read, he’s an absolute doll in “real life.” I know he’ll be around a long time because he’s insanely talented, and I have a feeling he’ll always remain a really great, down- to-earth guy. It’s refreshing to see a celebrity who’s well-grounded. His mama raised him right.

All these accounts of Darren’s general awesomeness from those who have met him just make me want to *randomly* run into him somewhere… now I just need a reason to fly across the pacific to the US…
Not but seriously can this guy get any more awesome? The guy is a serious talent who shines much brighter (and I suspect much longer) than Glee.
Good on him; and here’s hoping I get that meet ‘n’ greet one day.
