Good Morning America’s weather anchor Sam Champion to marry husband again this weekend
Sam Champion, weather anchor of ABC’s Good Morning America, officially married Rubem Robierb in New York City last Friday but that was only the first step in the wedding march for the couple.
They have headed down to Miami, Florida, where they will have a New Year’s Eve ceremony with a more festive, party atmosphere.
Miami is Robierb’s hometown and it was at a New Year’s Eve party that the couple first met.
The ceremony will be conducted by MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts, a fellow newlywed.
‘Yep, it is true… I am ordained! Thanks ‘Universal Life Church.’ What an exciting way to close out an incredible year!’ Thomas wrote on his Facebook page Thursday (27 December).
Champion had not been out publicly until his engagement to Robeirb was mentioned in a story in The New York Times about Roberts’ marriage to Patrick Abner.
The first ceremony was conducted New York State Supreme Court Justice George J. Silver – it lasted 10 minutes and took place in Champion’s home. Among the participants was GMA co-anchor Robin Roberts who read a poem by Elizabeth Barrett Browning.
