Get tickets for Sunday’s Power Up Awards honoring “10 Amazing Gay Women/Men in Showbiz” – including Greg In Hollywood
My black suit has been dry cleaned and everything!
I’m going to be taking a break from AFI Fest this weekend to head over to Eden- Hollywood Sunday night for the 12th annual Power Up Awards where 10 gay men/women (20 in all) in showbiz will be honored – including me.
I’m not sure how I made the cut but I figure I’ll show up and accept the award (we can make a one minute speech) before they change their minds!
But it’s not all about me – ha!
Also being honored by Power Up Films on Sunday: Michele Abbott, Kacy Boccamini, Miriam Cutler, Sheila Di Marco, Sophie B. Hawkins, Tristan Higgins, Aynee Osborn, Lynn McCracken, Lucy Mukerjee, Coley Sohn, Howard Cohen, Eric d’Arbeloff, Jim Dobson, Gary Goldstein, Dan Ireland, Larry Kennar, Jamie Mandelbaum, Christopher Racster, Guy Shalem.
I’ll be attending the VIP party and sitting at a table enjoying complimentary drinks and, I’m sure, enjoying every minute of it. If you want to join me and the other honorees, tickets at $500 – tax deductible, of course. If that’s a little steep for you, buy a $125 ticket which doesn’t include the 6-7 p.m. VIP party or a table seat. But you get to hang out and enjoy appetizers, yummy desserts, you get a fancy program and can order drinks from a no-host bar.
Tickets must be purchased by Saturday, Nov. 3, and are not available at the door.
The funds raised from this event will allow POWER UP to continue conducting tremendously successful educational programs through hands-on filmmaking mentorships, classes, workshops and seminars.

Here in SoCal desert – I have serious doubts the serious nature of this message has been heard, “We’ve been telling you how much is at stake in this election and what the implications would be for LGBT Americans under a President Romney. Check out this video we’ve put together and share it broadly – it serves as a harsh reminder of exactly what Mitt Romney stands for.”
RichB in PS says:
Congratulations. Thank you for doing what you do so well.

Except for Sophie B. Hawkins, I haven’t heard of any of them.
Mike says:
Way to go Greg and kudos on this, never heard of any of the others, congrats to them too!

I agree…. Sophie B. Hawkins is the only person other than you that the general public would know so if we wanted to follow in your footsteps “celebrity watching” we’d be out of luck. Not worth the drive and expense from beautiful Palm Springs.
