George Takei and Brad Altman talk about their marriage on “Larry King Live”
I gotta say, it’s awfully nice to have as terrific a couple as George Takei and Brad Altman out there talking about same-sex marriage and their life together. The couple, married last September after more than 20 years together, appeared on Larry King Live Wednesday night.
George spoke movingly about how Brad helped him care for his Alzheimers-stricken mother after they moved her in with them: “He helped me care for her until the very last day.”
“We have a bond, a union, and our marriage is profoundly important to us,” George told Larry.
King also got Brad’s thoughts on their union: “I just know that George and I love each other – George is the love of my life.”
Brad added that getting married “made all the difference in the world and it’s hard to put into words. … George is my husband, I’m the luckiest guy in the world.”
I love how Larry ended the interview: “You’ve got a great voice George.”
