Gay teen on Showtime’s “Shameless” growing up

The second episode of season 2 of Showtime’s Shameless premieres tonight.

Fans of the show are familiar with gay teen Ian, who is tough, street smart and quite sexually active.

Well, we learned during the TV Critics Winter Press Tour a few days ago that Ian’s love life will heat up. That’s because the actor you plays him, Cameron Monaghan, is now 18.

“We were wanting to be realistic about those lifestyles choices he was making,” Executive Producer John Wells told us. ‘Literally there is a federal law which we were shown by Warner Bros. legal department.’

Wells promises ‘we see him engaged romantically with a man.’

This is a great show, my wife and I have been crazy about this show since the first episode. I can’t say enough about how well William H. Macy plays somebody with alcohol problems. My wife was really able to relate to Fiona since she was the one taking care of her younger brother and sisters growing up, still is sometimes in fact. I’m glad that we get to find out more about Ian, his character and storyline at the convenient store is starting to get very interesting. Glad they’ll be able to dive deeper into who he is this season. I’ve been watching the entire second season in HD, it makes it that much more enjoyable than last year before I had my HDTV. What’s great is that I’m not paying anything extra for it either, working for DISH I know that they offer the HD free for life to new and existing customers.
