Friday Night Video: James Corden challenges Adam Lambert to be front man for Queen

This isn’t Carpool Karaoke James Corden.

This is Queen.

Corden told his Late Late Show audience on Thursday about how excited he is that the band has just announced a North American tour.

‘In my head when I was growing up I always thought that I would make a great front man for Queen,’ he says of the band who had a long string of hits with the late Freddie Mercury as the lead singer.

Corden then starts talking smack about Adam Lambert who is the band’s current front man.

‘I mean it’s all right,’ Corden said.

‘Should be a British man. I’m not saying I’d be a better front man than him, I’m just saying I think I’d be a better front man than him. That’s all I’m saying.’

Of course this is when ‘surprise’ guest Lambert shows up to wild cheers and applause from the audience.

Lambert throws down the challenge: ‘Maybe we should go head-to-head James. Bring it!’

Then the real treat: original Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor are on hand and they immediately start playing We Will Rock You.

The challenge is on and although Corden acquits himself well, he shouldn’t give up his late, late job.
