Friday Morning Man: Andreas Jancke! Jancke is almost too beautiful for words!

This 32-year-old actor played spent seven years playing Gregor Mann on the German soap opera Forbidden Love (Verbotene Liebe) which has become popular with gay audiences in the United States and Europe because of its gay couple Christian Mann and Oliver Sabel played by  Thore Schölermann and Jo Weil, respectively.

He is a graduate of the Bauhaus University in Weimar and the Université Lumière in Lyon and his favorite sports are basketball and running.

Andreas’s character is Christian’s brother and in a recent interview, Scholermann was asked how he thought his character would be affected by the absence of Gregor.

He said: “ It affects him more than you see on the show because they didn’t want to talk about it that much. But he was the last part of my family. My father died on the show, my mother died on the show, my cousin left the show. He was the last part of my family. My best friend as well. I don’t have another best friend on the show. He was the last guy I could talk to about my problems. (Pause) I think it affected Christian a lot. And me as well. I loved working with him. I loved playing with him because we were like brothers. And so it’s a pity.”

No doubt Andreas will surface elsewhere soon.

5 Remarks

  1. Greg, thanks for featuring Andreas Jancke. He truly is a beautiful man. Hope you’ll feature Jo Weil and Thore Schölermann in future updates.

If you haven’t checked out the English-subtitled clips of the Christian & Olli storyline yet, I strongly urge you to do so. The best place to start is Nanna’s YouTube channel. She’s the one who diligently provides the subtitles for the English-speakers and uploads the clips.

Start with Christian & Oliver Playlist I. After watching the sexy and romantic chemistry of “Chrolli”, you’ll wonder why Americans make so much fuss over Nuke. :)

It’s great to see him as the Morning Man. It was really sad to see him leave V.L. He had such great chemistry with Thore. I was never clear if he left the show willingly or was written off. I assumed once he married the princess, he figured it was time to move on to something else.

  3. Truth to be told he’s actually my favourite V.L. actor. Ollian were great as a couple, but as seperate characters I never liked them as much as Gregor and Jo or Thore never as much as Andreas. It’s the combination of his good looks, personality, wit and intelligence and his acting that I find very unique and V.L. has lost a great deal of its appeal to me since he left.

  4. It was a great loss when Andreas left VL. I was lucky enough to spend an evening with him in NYC in March at the GOOL event and let me tell ya…his pictures do NOT do him justice!

He and Thore had great chemistry as brothers and I think the whole ensemble suffered when he left the show.

    Thanks for featuring him!

  5. Couldn’t agree more, SoloMom67. VL will sorely miss Gregor’s sexploits, but all good things must come to an end….and I suppose leaving Gregor a respectable, untainted married man is a better memory that seeing him make a fool out of himself cheating on the Princess.
Although I think the writers missed a chance to turn him into a compelling aristocrat.

Can’t wait to see where he’ll turn up next.
