Flashback Friday: Remembering the athletic – and hunky – fun of “The Battle of the Network Stars”

Yeah, Mark Harmon is still a very attractive man as we can see on NCIS.

But in the 80s, he was ridiculously attractive.

I’m not sure what year this pic was taken but my guess is it was during the 1980-82 run of NBC’s Flamingo Road because that is when The Battle of the Network Stars was still going strong.

Here are a few videos from the long ago competition that one year drew the likes Farrah Fawcett, Ron Howard, Penny Marshall, Lynda Carter and all sorts of other TV icons of the day.

It’s like a time capsule – there’s an an obstacle course showdown between Kristy McNichol and Melissa Gilbert.

There’s also a video below of a gorgeous Tom Selleck in the dunk tank and of others 80s hunks like Gregory Harrison, Brian Kerwin, Gary Sandy andGrant Goodeve.

Enjoy and happy Friday!

2 Remarks

  1. I used to LOVE those specials and couldn’t wait for the next one. Nice memories from my childhood. Who can forget those hot guys in speedos, and the two Heathers {Locklear and Thomas} together in the dunk tank?

  2. I loved these shows as well. Robert Conrad is one sexy man then. His hairy chest, build, good looks…um…just yummy.
