Find out how much Ellen, Maddow, Anderson, Jim Parsons and other LGBT stars make

When it comes to the highest paid people on television, Jim Parsons and Ellen DeGeneres are among those doing the LGBT community proud.

Parsons is paid $1,000,000 per episode of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory for which he has won four Emmys for best lead actor in a comedy.

He is tied with co-stars Katy Couco and Johnny Galeci as the highst-paid actors in TV comedy, according to a list published by Variety this week.

DeGeneres, meanwhile, is pulling in $20 million per year as host of daytime’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Only Judy Sheindlin (Judge Judy) and Matt Lauer (The Today Show) make more.

Other highly-paid TV hosts include Miley Cyrus ($13-15 million for The Voice), Robin Roberts ($12 million for Good Morning America), CNN’s Anderson Cooper ($9-11 million), MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow ($7 million) and Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen ($4-5 million).

After Parsons, the highest-paid out star in sitcoms is Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson who makes $250,000 per episode.

The only openly gay stars to make the list in the drama category were Wentworth Miller who makes $175,000 per episode of the Prison Break reboot and Empire’s Jussie Smollett who makes $20,000 per episode.

One Remark

  1. It is absolutely obscene how much money these people make. Years ago, when I was still in the biz, I learned what a complete dick James Cameron really is…he refused to work in This country because of the Unions, which made sure that people behind the camera got a fair wage for their hard work.
He preferred to work in places like Mexico where he Didn’t have to pay prop makers their $1000 a Week…but made Sure that Arnold got his $20 Million for his ‘acting’!
