Emmy Round-Up: LGBT wins for Sarah Paulson, Kate McKinnon, Jeffrey Tambor & more!
>Well, the Emmys are over and I thought this year’s show went pretty darn well. Kudos to host Jimmy Kimmel for a stellar job – perhaps the best anyone has done in years. I enjoyed him so much from the Matt Damon bit to the Maggie Smith rant, Kimmel was first-rate. My job was to keep my eye out for the night’s LGBT elements and there were plenty. Over at Gay Star News, I posted stories on the win by Kate McKinnon who was congratulated on Twitter by Hillary Clinton. I wrote about Sarah Paulson who, at last, is an Emmy winner. She won for playing Marcia Clark in American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson and her tribute to Clark, who was her date, was a stupendous thing. And then there were two Transparent wins and very, very powerful speeches from star Jeffrey Tambor for lead actor in a comedy and creator Jill Soloway for directing in a comedy series. She said in her speech: ‘Topple the patriarchy!’ Please check those stories out!
