Don’t miss “Simply diVine!” this weekend, an evening of indulgence benefiting the LA Gay & Lesbian Center

Now this is one heckuva way to spend a Saturday night.

The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center’s Simply diVine! event, which I have attended several times in past years, is on Saturday and I highly recommend you add it to your calendar of events too.

Held each summer, this is an elegant event featuring delicacies from some of the area’s hottest restaurants and wine from some of the most popular wineries in California and beyond.

UPDATE: The event is moving this year from its previous location in Beverly Hills to Melrose Place (located between Melrose Ave. and La Cienega) which is home to trendy boutique shops like Marc Jacobs and Carolina Herrera. There will be tastings from more than 30 wineries and makers of craft beers/spirits and more than 20 of LA’s most popular restaurants.

In addition to food and wine tasting, Simply diVine! includes an extensive auction of fine wines, travel packages, fine dining and more.

The funds from your ticket purchase go directly to the life-saving services of the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, which include homeless youth services, HIV/AIDS medical care, youth mentoring and development, seniors services, cultural arts and education, and much more.

Last year’s event drew more than 400 people and raised nearly $125,000 for Center services.
