Does Tim Gunn, on a bitching rant all week, go too far by bagging on little Suri Cruise? Gunn is doing interviews and signings for his new book Gunn’s Golden Rules and boy it sure is bringing out his inner bitch!

In the past few weeks he has had a lot to say about famous people. Let’s start with druggie Lindsay Lohan and her disastrous tenure as creative director of Emanuel Ungaro: “Mr. Ungaro is dead and God knows he must have been rolling over in his grave, but I thought, this is one of the last couture houses left in this entire world. Lindsay Lohan is the creative director? How absurd is that! It would be like asking, I don’t know, like, asking Suri Cruise to pilot a fighter jet.”

Okay, that’s fine. But why did he have to go on to pick on the adorable daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes by adding: “Suri is, she’s her mother and father’s dress up doll and I feel in many ways she’s a fashion victim and it’s just very inappropriate.”

I dunno, I think she’s just the cutest creature on Earth and Tim should leave her the heck alone! But others are fair game. Here’s more of Tim’s bitchfest:

On Gossip Girl actress Taylor Momsen: (He witnessed her behavior while doing a guest spot on the show): “You know young lady, there are hundreds of thousands of girls who are just as attractive and even smarter than you. Why are you acting like this show is a huge burden on you?”

On Vogue editor Anna Wintour, on whom the book The Devil Wears Prada is reportedly based. Tim writes in his book that she was escorted out of a 2006 fashion show by bodyguards and she is reportedly livid about his remarks. Tim says: “I wasn’t slinging mud or criticizing her character. More than 30 people must have seen it. I’m just the only one brave enough to tell the truth. Lord knows hell would freeze over if I came face to face with her here, but I probably wouldn’t be able to see past her handlers.”

3 Remarks

  1. Anyone who knows me is aware that I am totally against anyone bringing the young children of stars up for criticism. In this case it sounds like to me that the criticism is for her parents and what they do with the child and not for Suri, herself.

  2. I think that is the case also, and he has a point.

  3. Tim Gunn is speaking his mind, and he has the right to do it. His commentary on Suri Cruise was not an attack on the child, but rather the parents and the way they dress Suri, which they are free to do any way they see fit. Personally, I think the heels for tots and toddlers are ridiculous too.

As for the “Hell Freezes Over: Tim Gunn v. Anna Wintour”, where can I get tickets? I would pay to see that.
