Does Kate McKinnon know where her Emmy is?
Kate McKinnon can’t sit and stare at the Emmy she won a few weeks ago even if she wanted to.
‘I don’t know where it is,’ the Saturday Night Live star told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on Wednesday.
She has vague memories of walking off stage with it and claims ‘someone took it from my hand and now I don’t know where it is.’
But she has been seeing pictures of it on Facebook in photos with other people including her manager’s son.
‘It’s had some kind of adventure like the Travelocity gnome.’
Winning the Emmy for supporting actress in a comedy series was indeed an out of body experience for McKinnon.
‘I have no conscious memory of that night after they called my name,’ she says.
After remembering that her name was called she insists it’s all just a ‘blackout.’
‘Then I came to many hours later, I was eating spaghetti alone in a hotel room – not the first time it’s happened.’
Fallon assures her she thanked all the right people including Ellen DeGeneres and Hillary Clinton who are two of her biggest breakout characters on SNL.
Fallon showed McKinnon the congratulatory tweets posted on Emmy night by Clinton and DeGeneres and McKinnon lamented that she’s not on Twitter so can’t respond to the talk show queen or the presidential nominee.
As for her lost Emmy, she’s confident it will find its way back to her when the time is right.
