Daytime Soap Clips: Luke and Noah break up on “ATWT” clearing the way for Dr. Reid Oliver!

Van Hansis is such a good actor. On today’s episode of As the World Turns, his character of Luke actually shed tears as he and the increasingly annoying Noah (Jake Silbermann) finally broke up. It’s not that they don’t love each other. It’s just that Noah – due to have surgery that may restore his sight – has to be on his own in order to be blind.

At least that’s what the writers would have us believe rather than have one or the other cheat or fall out of love of whatever. It’s a lame excuse that even Noah doesn’t seem to buy: “I know I must be sending you all kinds of mixed messages right now,” he says to Luke.

Ya think!

Luke reminds him of their past troubles that they were able to weather: “When I was paralyzed, when I got expelled, when Damian came back, you stood by me even when I tried to push you away.”

Luke also forgot to mention his little drinking problem and his near fling with his step-grandpa.

Anyway he tells Noah: “I always thought we both knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together … I need more from you and if you can’t give me that, I can’t do this anymore.”

Noah does not fight for his man, he just finds a new roommate and prepares for life as a blind man.

Good luck Noah.

Meanwhile,the hot doc Reid Oliver (Eric Sheffer Stevens)  is in Oakdale for good now that a new hospital wing is being built that he will be in charge of and able to do his work. He runs into Luke in a hotel lobby and after they exchange remarks, a man confronts Reid about the death of his wife and previews show that the man beats him up.

Luke will be there to comfort him and, hopefully, start a real romance!
