Daytime Soap Clip: Noah struggles with being blind and his anger toward Luke on “As the World Turns”

Noah (Jake Silbermann) is beyond in a bad mood in this episode!

His anger toward Luke (Van Hansis) runs deep because he blames Luke for the explosion that resulted in his being blinded: “You are the reason I lost my sight,” he snarls at Luke.

Later on a walk with Lily, Noah explains: “[Luke] should have never have gotten Mason fired. If we weren’t arguing about that then none of this would have happened. He was letting his jealousy take over. Did he really think that in a million years Mason could come between what we had? It’s like he’s becoming a newer, younger version of his father.”

Luke and Noah later have a talk and Noah continues to unload: “I’m sick to death of being mad at you – I love you. And I know you didn’t want the accident to happen. But every time I’m near you, every time I hear you speak or you touch me it just all comes back in this flood – everything – the fight over Mason, you going behind my back to your father, everything exploding in my face literally. It was just so stupid and senseless!”

They realize being together isn’t best right now so it’s arranged for Noah to go off to a rehab facility for the blind. They end things with a pretty sweet kiss – their first lip-lock with Noah as a blind man.

This storyline has allowed for Silbermann to do some of his best work ever on the show. It has allowed him to really show his talent and Hansis has matched him scene for scene. They are a wonderful pair to watch and it would be nice if the writers would write material worthy of them more often.

In other news, Lily walks in on creepy Damien and Meg! Hooray! How is Luke’s biological dad gonna get himself out of this one?

Stay Tuned.

2 Remarks

  1. Noah was using explosives in his film but was not a trained pyrotechnic expert. Noah failed to wear safety goggles.

    And Noah blames Luke?

  2. I used to DVR this show to follow the story of these young lovers. As of last week I have removed ATWT from my lineup, because — A) the storylines has become praeposterus and B) the make up job on Noah is horrendous.

For a show on its last legs, some believeable storylines might give this show some hope for survival.
