Days of Our Lives: Sonny & Will’s very moving & emotional wedding ceremony – have a Kleenex handy!

I’m a mess after watching this – just wiping away tears left and right.

Good grief, I think I believe in love again!

The truth is, I used to get lost in fantasy as a teenager that I would marry a guy and in my mind, the festivities were very much like what goes on during Sonny and Will’s wedding on today’s episode of Days of Our Lives.

With gay marriage becoming legal in a growing number of states with more sure to follow, my fantasy as a teen that I knew could never come true can actually come true for young gay people dreaming about that today,

That is why I will be forever grateful to this soap for giving us this episode, this wedding that was filled with love and supportive family and friends.

It’s the way it should be and always should have been.

Sonny tells Will during his vows: “You are my anchor that doesn’t weigh me down but gives me something to hold on to. Our life together is the greatest adventure of my life. I love you so much.’

(Freddie Smith, you are glorious in this scene – glorious)

Will tells Sonny: “I didn’t believe that I’d ever find any kind of love let alone the love I found with you.”

It’s all here, the speeches by relatives, the first dance, the cutting of the cake.

Great, great stuff.

Loved every minute of it.

Enjoy!

The tears started flowing for me when Caroline spoke.

  2. I gave up on this show…and soaps in general…years ago, but This was Wonderful! Very Well Written, for a change…unlike most of the faux-drama and ridiculous plots!
    Loved Caroline’s story!

    ^^X^^

  3. I cried too. What a great moment for daytime TV and let all the haters know marriage equality is knocking on or doors so get ready it will be here soon for all. As a side note I have very much grown to like Guy Wilson as will, I think I may even like him better than the old one. Kudos to the execs of NBC on making sure there is great chemestry between the two actors.

Will’s and Sonny’s story since 2011 included some of the BEST moments I’ve ever seen on ANY daytime show. There’s a reason why Chandler Massey won two Emmys, and this year, he and Freddie and other people involved in their storylines deserve another round of Emmys!! Guy Wilson is doing a fantastic job after only three months and is really making this role his own. So, this wonderful wedding was a perfect climax of everything we’ve seen of Will and Sonny so far and an absolute highlight for the show as a whole. Let’s hope that it was only the starting point for many new WilSon front burner storylines to come!!

  5. Bravos all around: writers, producers, actors, etc. One of the best storylines ever on TV!!!!

  6. Thank you thank you for this amazing storyline!!! The writers are just phenomenal with the story they are writing for Will and Sonny, The actors are SOO impressive, FS and GW are Fantastic!! I have really enjoyed this story line and I have to remember this story is on TV/ and Fiction, and I am always looking forward to see what is coming next for Will and Sonny!!! That becomes a great Story line, I hope they will continue to make Will and Sonny strong Super Couple with lots of drama, so they will get more air time, but still get threw the drama together, IT was just breathtaking to watch the Wedding of Sonny and Will
I Appreciate every one involved in the Will and Sonny Story Line. Thank you!!!

  7. The entire ceremony was beautiful.

  8. I adored the wedding episode. Everyone was on top of their game, and the entire Days cast seemed so invested in the event.

    Loved EVERYTHING about it!

  9. Yes, I absolutely agree with you. It was one of the finest hours of television I’ve ever seen, and the story was just phenomenal. DAYS and these two young men deserve so much credit. My longer take is here:

  11. What a great three days of DAYS! Loved everything, but really enjoyed the scenes with Victor. John Aniston was killing it! Oh, and when Caroline stood up to tell the story of their neighbors/friends who could not live openly….I was bawling! Was not expecting to be so moved. Kudos to the entire DAYS team!
